Top chart position #1 USA, spending 62 weeks on the chart.
Despite USA success, never charted in the UK.
The Beach Boys first number one and concert album is hardly their best- the early 60s music scene seemed to call on bands to perform all the latest hits from other bands as well, and this live album is weighted down by a number of "novelty" hits from their era. There is also a fair amount of studio doctoring that somewhat tarnishes the authenticity of this as a live album (although we know they all do it!). However, it remains an artifact of "Beach Boymania" and the chart performance showed the popularity of the band at that stage. It's something you will want to own as a Beach Boys fan, but you may not actually listen to that often.
